Emergency A/C & Heating Service
In a Phoenix summer, a failed air conditioner is a safety problem before it is a comfort problem. We treat it that way.
Reliable Air answers emergency no-cool and no-heat calls across the Phoenix metro and dispatches same-day whenever possible. Calls involving infants, elderly residents, medical equipment, or indoor temperatures above 90°F are triaged to the front of the queue. Call (602) 570-5290 and a real person will answer.
When indoor temperatures climb past the mid-90s, the risk stops being discomfort. Heat illness in Arizona sends people to the hospital every summer, and older adults, infants, and anyone with a cardiovascular condition are affected first. We prioritize accordingly, and we will say so plainly on the phone if we think you should not wait at home for us.
We also triage honestly in the other direction. If your system is running but underperforming and the house is at 80°F, we will tell you it can wait until a normal-rate appointment tomorrow rather than charging you for an after-hours visit you do not need.
What counts as an emergency
- No cooling with indoor temperatures above 90°F
- Any no-cool situation in a home with infants, elderly residents, or medical equipment
- Burning smell, smoke, or visible sparking at the equipment
- Water actively leaking from an attic air handler into the ceiling
- Carbon monoxide alarm sounding when the heat runs
- Complete heating failure during a freeze warning
While you wait for us
- Turn the thermostat fan to ON — circulating air helps even without cooling
- Close blinds and curtains on every sun-facing window
- Check your breaker panel; a tripped A/C breaker can be reset once, but if it trips again leave it off
- Check the filter — a completely blocked filter can freeze the coil solid
- If the outdoor line is iced, shut cooling off and leave the fan running to thaw it
- Move to the coolest room in the house and drink water steadily
What working with us looks like
Call and triage
A real person answers, asks the right questions, and gives you an honest arrival window.
Safety first
If the situation is unsafe, we tell you what to shut off and whether you should leave the house.
Fast diagnosis
Emergency calls get the same full diagnostic — we do not guess under time pressure.
Get you cool
We carry the common failure parts on the truck so most emergency calls are one visit.
What it costs
Normal business hours are Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, at standard rates. After-hours and Sunday calls carry an emergency rate, which is waived for maintenance plan members.
Emergency HVAC Service questions, answered
Do you offer 24/7 emergency A/C repair in Phoenix?
We run an emergency line for no-cool and no-heat situations and dispatch outside normal hours when conditions warrant it. Call (602) 570-5290 and describe the situation — we will tell you honestly whether we can be there tonight or first thing in the morning.
What should I do if my A/C stops working in extreme heat?
Check the filter and the breaker first — those two account for a meaningful share of calls. Close blinds, set the fan to ON, and move to the coolest part of the house. If indoor temperatures climb past the mid-90s and you have vulnerable household members, relocate to a cooling center, a relative, or a hotel while repairs are arranged.
How much does an emergency A/C call cost?
During normal business hours, nothing beyond our standard diagnostic fee. After hours and on Sundays there is an emergency dispatch rate, which we disclose on the phone before we come out. Maintenance plan members do not pay it.
